School newspapers, Suburban correspondent.

The Wagar school newspaper began in 1965 (or before, but the first records are from the 1965 Prelude), and was called the "Wagar Watch" until 1970. In 1971, the name changed to "Do It!", beginning a series of three names in three years: "The Challenge" in 1972 and "What?" in 1973. There was no school paper until 1978 when the "Wagar Lion" began its run until 1992, with gaps in 1979 and 1985-1990, with the "Wagar Chronicle" in 1984.

Stan Shatenstein, editor of "Do It!" (1970-1971), has contributed Issue 1 of "Do It!" (Oct. 1970). Maybe we can get scans of more pages from that and other Wagar newspapers. If you can help, contact us!
